It’s that time of year again when men start sprouting facial hair. When you spot guys sporting a ‘stache’ that’s more Hulk Hogan or Salvador Dali, it’s not just because the air is getting chilly. Most likely, they’re supporting men’s health.
Those brave men who trade their smooth mugs for an upper lip caterpillar get the distinctive honor of being named a Mo Bro. But the month is not just for gentlemen. Ladies – known as Mo Sistas – can also join in to support men’s health issues.
During November – also known as ‘Movember’ – the 30 days of mustache-growing help raise awareness and funds for a variety of men’s health issues. While the main emphasis is on conditions men most often avoid discussing – prostate and testicular cancer, and mental health – the month also focuses on men’s general health– weight, cholesterol and blood pressure.
Throughout the rest of this month, Mo Bros and Mo Sistas can follow our Movember series to learn more about men’s health issues.
